Casting The Appliance…
As you can see above I first coated the base of my cast with the mould release. You do not need a lot of this but it will help you later on in the process.
After 4 minutes turn down to the lowest setting and let the mixture turn slowly for around 12 minutes.
At approx 7 minutes in syringe in the gel mixture (45g) and leave to stir for the remaining times.
The finished mixture.
This means its time to start filling our cast, really pushing into all the details and filling up so that i can no longer see any face detail.
The last step of this process is to apply the whole piece into the over and cook for 2 hours on a low heat.
The picture above shows you the measurements needed for the creation of the foam latex.
The mixture in the bowl above is 300 Base
Foaming Agent: 20% of 300
Curing Agent (this will make the mixture spongey) 10% of 300
Whisk this for 4 minutes on the highest setting.
At approx 7 minutes in syringe in the gel mixture (45g) and leave to stir for the remaining times.
The finished mixture.
This means its time to start filling our cast, really pushing into all the details and filling up so that i can no longer see any face detail.
With the reverse of your cast push all the foam latex into the detailing and hold firm for several minutes.
The last step of this process is to apply the whole piece into the over and cook for 2 hours on a low heat.
