The Sculpting Process…
Before starting to sculpt I had to look back on my design then mapped out on the cast where I had to apply the clay. The pictures below show this process.
*Heat the clay in an oven for several minutes on a low heat to make it easier and softer to work with*
To make the clay stick better to the cast I had to vaseline the base before applying, this worked very well and solved my problem.
The picture above shows me dragging some clay down onto the face this is so that the foam latex piece once finished will blend onto the models face easily and look polished and more professional.
The two pictures above show my finished sculpt piece.
The pictures below show the "blocking out" process this is done before moulding part 2 starts in order to block out the areas that we do not wish to use in our final piece.
As you can see this is done by using blocks of clay, you can smooth this down by adding eat to the surface and smoothing over with your fingers.
